FT-IR analysis has become an increasingly important tool for in-service lubricants analysis, and is now widely deployed in a range of environments from high-throughput labs using the OilExpress autosampling system through to smaller field labs and on-site installations using the Spectrum Two In-Service Lubricants FT-IR Analysis System based on the revolutionary Spectrum Two instrument.
The OilPrep™ family of oil diluters automatically dilutes oil samples with kerosene (V-Solv™), in preparation for wear metals analysis by inductively coupled plasma (ICP), such as with the PerkinElmer® Optima™ ICP-OES. The OilPrep oil diluter configuration is capable of diluting up to 300 samples/hour using multiple (4 or 8) disposable tips. The Varispan® arm delivers the flexibility to access original sample containers, whereas ultrasonic liquid-level detection provides unattended dilution of samples of variable volume. OilPrep 4 can be upgraded to the OilExpress™ 4 Oil Condition Monitoring System to provide FT-IR analysis and oil dilution in a single platform.
