The LANCE® Ultra Human ANGPT1 Detection Kit is designed for detection and quantitation of human angiopoietin 1 (ANGPT1) in buffered solution and cell culture media using a homogeneous TR-FRET (no-wash steps, no separation steps) assay.
LANCE® and LANCE® (Lanthanide chelate excite) Ultra are our TR-FRET (time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer), homogeneous (no wash) technologies. One antibody of interest is labeled with a donor fluorophore (a LANCE Europium chelate) and the second molecule is labeled with an acceptor fluorophore (ULight™ dye). Upon excitation at 320 or 340 nm, energy can be transferred from the donor Europium chelate to the acceptor fluorophore if sufficiently close for FRET (~10 nm). This results in the emission of light at 665 nm.
Angiopoietin belongs to a family of vascular growth factors. There are several angiopoietins: ANGPT1, ANGPT2, ANGPT4 now identified, and a number of closely related proteins: ANGPTL1, ANGPTL2, ANGPTL3, ANGPTL4, ANGPTL5, ANGPTL6, and ANGPTL7. Angiopoietin 1(Ang-1; also ANGPT1) is a 70 kDa glycoprotein which contains 498 amino acids, including a coiled-coiled domain near the amino-terminus and a fibrinogen-like domain at the C-terminus. It plays a critical role in vessel maturation, adhesion, migration, and survival.
